Our Vision
A Guiding Belief
At Play Lead Succeed, we believe that success is about more than wins and losses—it’s about who you become along the way. While athletic achievement is celebrated, we know that true greatness is shaped through leadership, character, and heart, both on and off the field.
Our purpose is to empower young athletes by helping them develop the life and leadership skills that will serve them far beyond the game. Through sports camps, hands-on mentorship, and community-based initiatives, we focus on building qualities such as confidence, discipline, emotional resilience, teamwork, and integrity.
Leadership, to us, means more than being a team captain—it means having the courage to lead by example, make strong decisions, support others, and take responsibility for one’s growth. We teach athletes how to lead themselves first so they can become positive influences in their schools, communities, and future careers.
We are deeply committed to shaping the next generation of leaders—athletes who excel on the field and make a difference off of it. Our holistic approach nurtures the whole person, guiding each young athlete to grow not only as a competitor, but as a compassionate, confident, and capable individual.

Building Something Bigger
In the fall of 2022, former professional baseball player and coach Jacob Eckley Sr. founded the Arizona Dragons, a youth baseball program born from a passion for developing not just athletes, but leaders.
After years of coaching at the professional, high school, and youth levels, Jacob saw a need for a program that went beyond wins and stats—one that emphasized character, leadership, and growth both on and off the field. With that vision, the Arizona Dragons were created to offer young athletes a space where they could compete at a high level, learn the game the right way, and build the skills and mindset to succeed in all areas of life.
What started as a single team quickly grew into a movement—anchored in mentorship, community, and a commitment to excellence. Today, the Arizona Dragons continue to develop confident, disciplined players who are prepared to lead not only in baseball, but in school, relationships, and the future ahead.
